Intelligent menu navigation that makes your life easier
At our Infiray Mate MAH50 test we would like to pay particular attention to this Menu and its operation because the most important innovations for you can be found here. First of all we have to enter here big praise Infiray because the thermal imaging giant has finally decided to most people. Label menu items individually – and even that auf Deutsch! Long and unnecessary guesswork on the hunt or having to resort to the operating instructions are a thing of the past: Each menu icon has its own clear label. Top!
Let's get straight to the point: the menu as a whole very clear and easy to understand. There is a main menu through which you can access two further submenus can switch. To switch from the main or start menu to one of the other menu fields, you must briefly press the right button on the remote control. If you hold the button down longer, you will go to the main menu.
In the first submenu you can make the following settings that affect immediate image playback:
- Brightness
- Degree of softness of image reproduction
- Environment Type (Scene Mode): Here you can choose between the modes “Forest”, “Flatland” and “City”. In most cases it doesn't make a big difference which mode you have set. It's still best to try out which of the three settings suits you best (e.g. in different weather conditions).
In the second submenu you will find all other settings:
- Toggle Ultra Clear Mode on/off
- Turning the WiFi on/off
- Video output
- Calibration
- zeroing in
- Weapon storage (shooting profiles)
- Shooting range notification (with which you can display the approximate distance to the piece)
- Pixel error correction
- Date
- Time
- Language
- Reset to factory settings
- Device information
The Infiray of course also has different color modes, which you can set and try out as you wish. Below are the playback modes Black Hot, White Hot, Red Hot and False Colors – although in our opinion the image quality is best with Black Hot.
Another small but helpful aspect: In the bottom bar of the display you will see: which menu settings you have selected and activated. So you can always see exactly how your image quality changes due to which setting, etc Make optimal use of the interaction of different menu options.
