PixFra Taurus T425 LRF: compact, robust and clever features
What immediately stands out: the PixFra Taurus T425 LRF is visually almost identical to its counterpart without LRF. It's just a bit larger and therefore a bit heavier. Other features we found for you in our test include:
- Practical operation:
The device impresses with its user-friendly design: With just a few buttons on the top, the most important Control functions quickly and intuitivelyThe on/off button on the side is particularly practical – thanks to the integrated lighting, it is clearly visible even in the dark, and the brightness can be adjusted customize. In addition, the device has a detachable remote controlwhich exactly reflects the operation of the device itself – extremely practical! - Battery changing system:
A real advantage is the side-integrated battery compartment, which contributes to the particularly compact design of the device. sophisticated 18650 battery system with replaceable cells The power source can be swapped out at any time – ideal for remaining flexible and independent even during longer use. The manufacturer claims a runtime of up to 7 hours – we consider 5 to 6 hours more realistic. - Recoil sensor:
Also worth mentioning is that integrated recoil sensor: It automatically starts recording – two seconds before and ten seconds after the recoil is triggered. This allows you to reconstruct exactly what happened at that moment. A very useful feature for recording processes to analyze precisely and identify potential errors. A real plus for targeted application! - Laser range finder:
You activate the laser rangefinder with a separate button on the top of the device. The measurement is not carried out via a measuring mark, but rather a picture-in-picture function.
Technical details of the PixFra Taurus T425 LRF in review
The PixFra Taurus T425 LRF is a powerful attachment for short to medium distances and impresses with impressive imaging performance – a plus point that quickly makes the slightly higher weight fade into the background. Equipped with a 25 mm lens and a 384 mm sensor, it delivers sharp, detailed image, which is particularly useful when stalking, at the bait or when sitting in a hide.
Thanks to a low microbolometer value of 18 mK, even fine structures clearly displayedThe image remains stable, without annoying flickering or pulsing – ideal for use at dusk or at night. The optimal magnification of a riflescope is 2x to 4x, while image quality remains consistently intact.
In practice, the range of application is usually between 50 and 100 meters, although game structures can be clearly identified even beyond 100 meters. The integrated laser rangefinder reliably measures distances up to about 1000 meters – a useful feature that additionally supports target acquisition.
The integrated distance function is displayed directly on the image – via a separate window that opens at the top of the display. To perform a measurement, the device is moved over the objects, and the distance is then reliably recorded. When used in combination with a glass, however, it should be noted that the display moves out of the visible area with increasing optical magnification. At approximately 4x magnification, the image already appears cropped, and at approximately 6x magnification, the magnification must be reduced again, otherwise the distance will no longer be legible.
All in all, the Taurus T425 LRF is a reliable attachment with strong performance, ideal for demanding applications day and night.
