The Pulsar Axion XQ30 Pro impresses again with the typical features that you would expect from Pulsar knows. The magnetic lens caps can be conveniently attached to the magnetic wrist strap, which prevents annoying rattling - an absolute plus point! The eyepiece is very small, as is the display - here you have to see how well you can handle it. The Operation is similar to the previous model and nicely arranged: the blue highlighted button for switching on and off, the central menu and two arrow keys for navigation. The diopter compensation can be adjusted excellently and the lens adjustment is a bit tight at first, but this is normal for new devices and loosens with use. The wrist strap can flexibly switched from left to right – a well thought-out solution for individual comfort.

Technical details of the Pulsar Axion XQ30 Pro Tests
With the new Axion XQ30 Pro we see some exciting improvements compared to the well-known XM30F, which was still equipped with a 320 sensor. Now we have a more powerful 384 sensor with more measuring points, which leads to a higher overall performance. The mk value is also smaller, which significantly improves the sensitivity. The pixel pitch, i.e. the distance between the measuring points, is now somewhat larger, but this is not a disadvantage, as there are more measuring points.
As far as the detection range is concerned, you have to expect a slightly lower range, since the device only a 2x magnification However, you benefit from a much larger field of view - instead of 13 m, you now have 23 m. We think that's a positive thing, because a wider field of view offers clear advantages in terms of overview.
In practice, we tested the device on meadows and fields. Here it is a little weaker, but it is absolutely recommended as a spotter. Thanks to its handy and high-quality construction, it is also ideal as a supplement to an attachment. Our recommendation: Use the device at the feeding station, when stalking or as a spotter - this is where the focus lies and this is where it really shows its strengths.
