The features of the Pulsar Telos XP50 in review
The Pulsar Telos XP50 is ideal for field hunting, but forest hunters can also use it well: The two and a half times optical magnification offers a good average value with a very large field of view. Pulsar In the Telos XP50 test, we were particularly impressed by the excellent digital zoom: using a zoom ring, this can be adjusted continuously - so you don't have to make any compromises for a razor-sharp image. A separate focusing ring also ensures a crystal-clear view of the pieces. Great!
We found the focusing a little difficult at first. However, this could also be a choice made by the manufacturer so that the focus cannot be accidentally adjusted.
Further important features, which we in Pulsar Telos XP50 test convinced, among others:
- StreamVision 2 App: With the StreamVision 2 app you can easily play back pictures and videos of your most impressive hunting moments on your smartphone or tablet. The device itself has 64 GB of storage space - that offers enough space for your digital trophies.
- Innovative LPS 7i battery system: The Pulsar Telos XP50 impresses with a battery life of over eight hours, making it the ideal companion for long hunting trips in the forest and fields. The battery can be charged directly via a USB-C port – here Pulsar and saves us an additional charging cradle for the battery. We think it’s great! Inserting the battery is also intuitively designed: A clearly audible click signals that the battery is correctly inserted and the compartment is locked. In addition, the battery can also be charged during operation, which gives you flexibility in your everyday hunting. Pulsar with this thermal imaging device inductive chargingWe have not tested anything here yet and therefore cannot judge whether all inductive charging stations are compatible with it or whether Pulsar will even release accessories for it.
- Excellent handling:The Pulsar Telos XP50 has four rubberized buttons that are sensibly labeled with pictograms – operating them with gloves can be a little more difficult, as the buttons are no longer optimally tactile due to the thick material. But practice makes perfect. symmetrical arrangement of keys but allows comfortable handling for both left- and right-handed users.
The lid of the device is typical for Pulsar and can be opened smoothly, which makes silent handling - ideally solved, we think. The lid also has two locking mechanisms, so it does not wobble and does not get in the way. The eyepiece rubber is foldable and adjustable and allows optimal comfort for both spectacle wearers and left- and right-handed people. inconspicuous diode shows the operating status without scaring the game. Top notch!
