The features of the Pulsar XQ35 in the test

  • StreamVision 2 App:
With the StreamVision 2 app from you can Pictures and videos of your most impressive hunting moments easily on your smartphone or tablet. The device itself has 64 GB of storage space - that offers enough space for your digital trophies.
  • Innovative LPS 7i battery system:
The Pulsar Telos XQ35 impresses with a impressive battery life of over eight hours and is therefore perfect for extended use. The battery can be conveniently charged via a USB-C port - a clever detail that saves us from having to use a separate charging cradle. We think that's great! Inserting the battery is also particularly user-friendly: an audible click confirms that the battery is securely in place and the compartment is correctly closed. In addition, the Battery can be charged during operation, which gives you even more flexibility in your everyday hunting life. The device also supports inductive charging. We have not yet tested this function, so it remains to be seen whether all inductive charging stations are compatible or whether Pulsar will offer special accessories for this.
  • Excellent handling:
Basically, we can say that the Both devices are very handy and comfortable to handle are – the XQ35 a little more than the LRF version.
The Pulsar XQ35 is equipped with four rubberized buttons which are identified by sensibly placed pictograms. However, operation can be a little more difficult with thick gloves, as the buttons are then no longer optimally tactile - but here the rule is: practice makes perfect. Thanks to the symmetrical arrangement The keys are easy to reach for both left- and right-handed users.
The typical one Pulsar-Lid opens silently and smoothly – a solution that we find ideal. Two locking mechanisms ensure that the lid stays in place and does not get in the way. Eyepiece rubber is foldable and adjustable, which offers a comfortable user experience for both glasses wearers and left- and right-handed people. A discreet diode shows the operating status without disturbing the game.
  • In use:
In the practical test, both the Pulsar Telos XQ35 and the Telos LRF XQ35 through their user-friendly handling. Focusing is intuitive, but there is a risk of accidentally moving the zoom ring when focusing on the front ring when wearing gloves. The buttons respond smoothly and offer pleasant feedback. Despite the slightly top-heavy nature of the devices, they can be easily operated thanks to the ambidextrous wrist strap The rubber eyepiece attachment feels comfortable on the eye and the diopter adjustment is finely adjustable. The display brightness is particularly noteworthy, as it is easy on the eyes.
As far as observation performance is concerned, Clearly distinguish game species up to 100 meters away. At distances of 200 to 300 meters, larger game species can still be recognized in motion, while smaller, stationary animals such as foxes and badgers are more difficult to identify. The large basic magnification of 3x helps to better target game at greater distances. The integrated laser rangefinder works reliably and measures either continuously or at the push of a button. Although the manufacturer specifies a range of 1000 meters, in practice up to 600 meters could be measured precisely. Measuring larger objects such as trees or raised hides is also possible at greater distances.
Overall, the Telos as a reliable device, which can be used in the forest as well as in open fields or at feeding stations thanks to a relatively large field of view of almost 19 meters at 3x magnification.
