GUIDE Nightlux JSA IR-435 VOx handheld thermal imaging device

The new Nightlux JSA IR-435 thermal imaging device is manufactured by Guide and features a 400 x 300 pixel Vox detector with a very high thermal resolution of <50 mk @F1.0 NETD and a display with a resolution of 1280 x 960 pixels.

This means that even the finest temperature differences can be displayed cleanly and clearly. The completely newly developed eyepiece offers a very pleasant viewing experience and is also suitable for people who wear glasses. The display in the eyepiece has a resolution of 1280 x 960 pixels and a large diameter of 0,4 inches. This makes the image appear very close, comparable to looking at a 22-inch screen from one meter away.

With the high-quality 35mm Germanium lens (focusable), the device achieves an optical magnification of 2,3x.

Thanks to the digital zoom of 1x - 4x in fine steps or 2x and 4x, a maximum system magnification of up to 9,2x can be achieved. However, the digital zoom reduces the perceived sharpness of the image. This is the case with all thermal imaging devices.

16GB internal storage and WiFi

Images and videos can be backed up directly on the 16 GB internal memory. Transfer to smartphone or tablet is possible via app. It is also possible to transfer it to a PC via a USB C cable.

The JSA IR-435 can be connected to an app via WIFI. With this, several settings can be easily adjusted via the menu. It is also possible to preview the different pseudo colors next to each other. Images and videos can also be recorded via the app without having to press any buttons on the JSA IR-435. This is very pleasant and helpful when using the JSA IR-435 on a tripod, for example.

The JSA IR-435 has a picture in picture function with which part of the picture is displayed zoomed in the main picture. The position of the displayed image can be positioned freely.

The GUIDE Nightlux JSA IR-435 VOx has the option of being retrofitted with a laser rangefinder as an accessory. The laser rangefinder will be available as an optional accessory at a later date. The measurement result is shown directly on the display of the JSA IR-435.

New: HDMI connection

Another new feature is the HDMI connection. This allows live images to be transmitted almost instantaneously to TV devices or displays with Full HD, 4K and 8K. The video signal here is clearly superior to the previously common analog AV signal!

The device has two 18650 batteries with 6.000 mAh. The operating time is up to 5 hours in normal mode (depending on the temperature). In energy saving mode this is noticeably extended again. The advantage of the standard 18650 batteries is that you can still have the batteries replaced in the service center in 5 or 10 years. Unlike special battery packs for current devices, which may no longer be available for purchase.

A USB 5 V power bank can also be connected via the USB-C port and the device can be charged or operated directly.

The image can be displayed in White-Hot, Black-Hot and 3 levels of Red-Hot.

There are also presets for image adjustment such as forest or city. Brightness and contrast can also be finely adjusted. With the image optimization option, a “sharpener” is placed over the entire image. In addition, the brightness of the screen can be adjusted individually. The detection range of people is approx. 1000 m and that of vehicles is approx. 2400 m.
