Particularly noteworthy is the high-quality black carrying bag, in which that ThermTec Wild 325 is delivered. The workmanship of the bag is first class! It has a modular carrying system (Molle), which allows flexible attachment to various equipment such as vests. In addition, there are side attachment options for a carrying strap, as well as a small carabiner on the back. Many manufacturers are currently using similar bag solutions, and the workmanship is really convincing. The bag is robust and definitely suitable for tough hunting use. We definitely give it a plus point!

The operating features of the ThermTec Wild 325 in review
The ThermTec Wild 325 impresses with its optimal size – neither too big nor too small – and sits comfortably in the hand. With a weight of around 530 g including the battery, it is well balanced. Even at first glance the device appears high quality, and the rubberized surface not only provides a pleasant feel, but also testifies to its robust quality. Important: Avoid cleaning with disinfectants or harsh cleaning agents as these could damage the surface coating.
A highlight is the seamless integration of the eyepiece rubber into the diopter adjustment, which ensures a smooth and comfortable viewing experience. The device is suitable for use with both the left and right eye, which makes it particularly practical for hunting use There are two eyelets on the sides for attaching a wrist strap, which is suitable for both right- and left-handed users. There is also a thread on the bottom to which the included carrying strap can be attached.
The Lens cap closes quietly and safely thanks to a built-in spring - annoying noises that could scare away the game are therefore avoided. Particularly noteworthy is the internal focusing, which allows one-handed operation without the need for a focusing ring on the front of the device - a real plus for usability!
- Joystick control: ThermTec has the Wild series Proven control concept of the previous Cyclops series adopted, which has almost become the trademark of the manufacturer. In addition to separate buttons for photo/video and on/off, the device is controlled by a small joystick in combination with a rotary wheel. This arrangement enables a intuitive one-handed operation, which is suitable for both right- and left-handed users. The joystick is used to navigate in the menu: a press confirms the selection, a right click opens the quick menu for the color palettes, a left click activates the AI-supported distance measurement. By moving forward or backward you zoom in or out, and a double click takes you to the main menu. The Main menu is structured like a tree and significantly better and more intuitive than the Cyclops series. However, please note that operating the controller with gloves can be a little more difficult due to the sensitivity of the joystick.
- Measurement with artificial intelligence: The Wild 325 from ThermTec is with one AI-based distance measurement It is important to note that the results are only rough estimates. Although the function no exact measurements, but it is helpful for initial assessments. If you need more precise measurements, you should choose a model from the Wild series, which is equipped with a real laser rangefinder.
Please note that the 325 is not available in an LRF version. These only start with the 335.
- Removable battery system: The ThermTec Wild 325 is equipped with a replaceable battery system and uses classic 18650 batteries. The manufacturer states a running time of 8 hours, although this was measured under ideal conditions. How the batteries perform when hunting, especially at low temperatures, remains to be seen. It is advisable to gain your own experience here - so far we have been able to achieve a maximum of 6 hours.
The battery system can be replaced by a double secured snap closure opened and closed. However, caution must be exercised when changing the battery, as this process is not silent. Another advantage is the flexible charging cradle included in the delivery.
Note: The batteries are "polless", i.e. without a protruding head. When inserting them, make sure that you position them correctly - there is a small note in the battery compartment to help you with this. - Internal focus: The feature that we like about the Wild series, and especially about ThermTec Wild 325, most excited, is the internal focusing. You can easily operate this with one finger using a small rotary wheel on the housing. Instead of having to reach forwards to the lens, focusing is now done comfortably and ergonomically with just one hand. This means that the other hand always remains free - a big compliment for this unique feature from the manufacturer!

The 325 is the only device in the Wild series that is not equipped with LRF.

The ThermTec Wild 325 is equipped with a 25mm lens and a 384mm sensor equipped. The field of view is relatively narrow at 18 m, which is why we see the device clearly as being suitable for forest hunting. In our test, we were able to target game well up to 150 m - anything beyond that becomes difficult. Also remember that you can only zoom in digitally with the Wild 325 - unfortunately you have to do without an optical zoom.
